FAQs

  • We are so glad to have you! Many Brothers come to GCC solo! It is a great place to make friends and connections.

  • Wednesday: This day is the kick-off of GCC! This is the best day to get registered. When you register, you will get your lanyard, name tag, GCC pin and coin. You will need your nametag to attend the exclusive Kappa Psi event at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in addition to attending all GCC meetings and events. The first Continuing Education session will occur. Later that day, if you are the delegate for your chapter, you will attend either the Student Delegate Meeting. At the collegiate delegate meeting, you will be told everything you need to know about representing your chapter at the business sessions.

Then, you will attend General Session 1 where introductions are made and candidates for international office give their speeches. The Opening Reception will follow General Session 1 to network and meet Brothers while having some fun and enjoying food. After the reception, an exclusive event will be held at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Thursday: Thursday will be the first full day of GCC! If you have not already registered, you may do so in the morning before General Session 2. The second CE session will occur before the business meeting. If you are a chapter delegate, there will be a place card to indicate where you should sit. To access any of the committee or officer reports, visit the convention page on kappapsi.org. Grand Council Deputies will have the ability to network and discuss Chapter issues at the by invite only luncheon. The rest of the day will fly by with workshops and the Meet the Candidates session. The awards dinner will occur this night where Chapters and individual will be recognized. The GCC Keynote address will also occur.

Friday: Registration will once again be open in the morning. CE session 3 will occur before General Session 3. Province Supervisors will meet for an invite-only breakfast. Be prepared to get right to work and have a very engaging session. This will be followed for some time to go get lunch. Time has been set aside for Province caucuses. In the evening, students can participate in the Poser Presentation session followed by networking the alumni in the popular career roundtable session. The Ice Cream Social and Chapters Sales will also occur this evening.

Saturday: CE session 4 and General Session 4 will occur in the morning followed by a short on your own lunch break. General Session 5 will occur in the afternoon. General Session 5 may be cancelled if all business and elections fit into General Session 4. Make sure your Chapter is present in the morning just in case. The Alpha Chapter will host a reception before the Anniversary Banquet. At the banquet, office installation will occur along with recognitions and the closing of GCC.

  • Each Chapter will receive a travel stipend for one delegate to attend. This stipend is for roundtrip air transportation determined by The Central Office. See “Delegate Reimbursement Information” for more details on how much your Chapter will receive. The delegate must attend each General Session to be eligible to receive the stipend.

  • No worries! You are not alone! Most chapter delegates are first-time Convention attendees and will be in the same boat. You will be voting on behalf of your chapter during the Business sessions during Convention. You will sit at a designated seat- labeled with your chapter name. Most questions can be answered at the Delegate Meeting on Wednesday before General Session 1, but you can also ask the people sitting near you if you have any questions. If you make a mistake, there will be someone in the business session to politely walk you through how it needs to be in order to uphold Robert’s Rules. When in doubt, ask! Many other people may have the same question as you!

  • Uber and Lyft are both available from the airport to the Convention hotel. Estimated price is anywhere from $25-$35 depending on the time of day you land.

  • This year, our Convention hotel is centrally located in downtown Cleveland near many attractions and restaurants! Almost everything is walkable from the hotel, and there are tons of options to explore all that Cleveland has to offer.
