Kappa Psi E-mail and Apps
As of July 2008, the brothers, chapters, and provinces of Kappa Psi have an improved option for checking
their Kappa Psi e-mail accounts. Thanks to the addition of Google Apps, you
can now use Gmail to access your Kappa Psi E-mail account.
The advantages of using Gmail to check your Kappa Psi E-mail account include:
- Each account has 7 gigabytes of mail storage, compared to 20 megabytes per account with our old e-mail system
- The ability to move old e-mail to an "Archive" folder, to keep your Inbox uncluttered
- Individual spam folders for each account and better options to mark and filter spam out
- Easier-to-use user interface
- Google-like search abilities, to search to find any old mail you desire in your "Archive" folder
- Gmail does not require the use of port 2095, like our old e-mail system did. Some universities, businesses, and internet service providers block port 2095 for security purposes, making it previously impossible for some chapters and individuals to easily check their Kappa Psi E-mail
- Better support to check or download your e-mail through POP and IMAP access , so that you can check your e-mail in Outlook, mobile phone devices, or in other email accounts or services, etc.
When logging in, you only need to type in the part of your e-mail address before the @ sign.
Unless you have already changed it, the default password when logging in through Gmail is: kappa1879
